BusinessInfoGuide.com provides aspiring and existing entrepreneurs with valuable resources and industry information in a format that is easy to navigate. Our newsletter delivers unique content and strives to be a “must-have” for all entrepreneurs.
About BIG:
BusinessInfoGuide.com was founded in 2005 by Stephanie Chandler, a corporate refugee. Chandler spent 11 years in the fast-paced Silicon Valley but when she developed an ulcer before her 30th birthday, she knew it was time for a complete lifestyle change.
Chandler fled corporate America in 2003 and opened a bookstore in Sacramento, CA (she sold the store in 2007). In the process of starting the business, she discovered a new passion: helping aspiring entrepreneurs find the same freedom that she did. In response, she launched BusinessInfoGuide.com, a directory of resources for entrepreneurs.
Chandler is also the author of several books:
The Author’s Guide to Building an Online Platform: Leveraging the Internet to Sell More Books (Quill Driver Books, May 2008)
From Entrepreneur to Infopreneur: Make Money With Books, eBooks and Information Products (John Wiley & Sons, December 2006)
The Business Startup Checklist and Planning Guide: Seize Your Entrepreneurial Dreams! (Aventine Press, September 2005–a book of the year award winner by Foreword Magazine)
A noted small business expert, Chandler’s articles have been seen in dozens of print and online publications. She is also a frequent speaker at small business events and on the radio.
Chandler is also the founder of Pro Publishing Services, a custom copywriting service that specializes in electronic newsletters (e-zines) and other marketing services.

Note to BIG Visitors from the Founder:
Dear Fellow Entrepreneurs,
Thank you for taking the time to visit the BIG website. I hope you
have found valuable information here to help you succeed with your entrepreneurial goals.
I have never looked back since I kissed off corporate America in 2003. I love getting up in the morning. I love my work. What I found most amazing during that time was that so many people said to me, “I wish I had the courage to do what you did.” I’m here to tell you that it wasn’t as much a matter of courage as it was a matter of planning and preparation.
You might be amazed by how much fear is removed from the equation when you know what you’re getting yourself into. So if you’re thinking about starting a business, I urge you to develop a solid plan. Find resources and make the most of them. Network with other successful business people and don’t forget to write a business plan–even if you don’t need to apply for a loan. A business plan forces you to think about every aspect of your business!
There is always an element of risk when starting a business, however preparation can help you minimize some of that risk. Unfortunately we can’t remove risk completely. Just remember that you take risks every day. You take a risk by driving on the freeway, eating junk food, and falling in love. Some risks can be worth it in the long run.
My final bit of advice: Don’t risk more than you can afford to lose. Too many businesses fail for various reasons: lack of planning, undercapitalization, and uncontrollable circumstances. You should have a back-up plan so that if you have set-backs, you can recover.
Whatever you do, I wish you the best of luck. I would also love to hear from you. Please contact me to share your thoughts, your story or your ideas anytime.
Warm regards,
Stephanie Chandler

“I’ve seen your profile on the IdeaCafe website. I enjoyed your profile and loved your BIG website even more. I’m in the pet business and your website had a ton of information. Of course, I’ve been in business for awhile and had already discovered most of those websites. But it took months of my time to find the same websites that you listed in one place.
Your BusinessInfoGuide is great. I hope you have time to add additional industries and more information on do-it-yourself public relations campaigns. Great job!”
